After:
As you could see in the before pictures, we manipulated the wall as far back as we could (approximately 3 1/2"). Because of how violent a break this wall experienced, we had to excavate the foundation. We then opened the slab and installed a footing with rebar extending up the full height of the new wall. These areas were filled solid with concrete.
We also sprayed a waterproof membrane with a drainage matting and footing drain to reduce static pressure on the foundation before backfill.
Installing a new wall here was the best approach for this particular project. Needless to say, our homeowner is now comfortable utilizing this valuable area of the property.
Before:
We were called in to inspect a failing foundation.......
These pictures are quite a statement. This wall was an extreme example!
This project was a concern because of insects (cave crickets), water, humidity, mold, cold and unsightliness.
We addressed all of these issues. In the basement side of this building we installed a new SuperSump with an UltraSump and new discharge line. We also created an opening between the basement and crawl space to allow airflow for the SaniDry XP.
On the crawl space side, we had a new door installed, closed up the existing window and a couple of miscellaneous openings. It's hard to see but several joists required "sistering " due to moisture. We also installed 2 new lally columns with footings. All of this was the encapsulated with CleanSpace. The entire rim joist was spray foam insulated.
On this project we installed concrete blocks in 2 windows that were leaking, DrainTile, CleanSpace wall and a TripleSafe with 1 pump and an UltraSump. This was a project we looked at several years ago but because of very little heavy precipitation the customer waited and called us in years later to do the job!
This homeowner insisted on a concrete floor in the crawl space. We poured a new footing/floor and built off of it. This job had SilverGlo installed on the walls and CleanSpace under the slab and tied into the SilverGlo. We installed a few yards of gravel under the liner to create the proper grade.
This is a before and after of a basement we waterproofed in Andover, NJ. Our client has very flat property in an area that is prone to minor flooding.
We installed DrainTile with CleanSpace and a TripleSafe to control the hydrostatic pressure that was occurring. We also installed block work in 3 of the 4 windows to elevate the existing grade. The fourth window was a little above grade so we installed glass block to allow light to enter without the elements (humidity, insects).
To complete this project we installed our SaniDry Sedona and drained it into the system.
